Q: My site requires me to regularly update the drop down menu by inserting a new item at the top of the list.


A: Add items using the following function:

function dm_ext_addItemPos (menuInd, submenuInd, iParams, Pos)

Adds the new item to a submenu.

menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.

iParams = [array] - the array of item parameters.
This parameter has the same structure as an item in menuItems array.
You can assign parameters of another existent item of the menu
(for example, when you want to create a duplicate of the existent item) or create new ones.

Structure of iParams:
[item_text, link, icon_normal, icon_over, tip, target, individual_style_index, jsFilename]
Pos - the position in the menu where you want to add new item.

Q: For any reason dropdown menu in javascript know shows incorrect accented characters.

A: You can save your data file in UTF-8 in Windows version of DeluxeTuner v3.2.7.

You should turn on "Tools/Use utf8 encode" property.
In that case your data file will be saved in UTF-8 encode.

Enter these symbols and save your data file.

If you don't want to use UTF-8 encode on your page you should turn off"Tools/Use utf8 encode" property, save your data file and manuallychange your letters in any text editor.

You can also replace your letters with special sets, for example
É - Capital E, acute accent - E
ç - Small c, cedilla - c

Q: Though, once I click on a link, the page will load properlyin the correct frame, but the next time I hover over that dhtml menu link again, I get a Permission Denied error.

A: It is possible that your links are incorrect.

If you open links situated in the different folders on your serveryou'll get error.

You can try to use absolute paths for your dhtml menu links:

Q: Hi There. I wanted to use your product, but couldn’t figure out how multiple users could get varying menus using the file driven approach.

I currently use a java menu that I build on the fly without any files.

The only thing I could come up with was having each user refer to his/her own data.js file, that I can build on demand.
Does that make sense to you?


A: Deluxe Menu is Javascript code only. It requires several .js files andit's generated on a client side.

Theoretically it is possible to have varying menus for multiple users.You should create your own server-side script (for example, php) thatwill change the menu for your users. The menu doesn't support such afeature.
