Q: I’m trying to setup a simple DHTML MENU (TREE MENU). It works just fine. I just have an issue that I can’t solve.

The parameter “  var tmenuHeight = "0"; Your documentation says the following

Height of the menu in (px, % or other units).
If the value 0 - the menu sets its height automatically.
If the value is small - scrollbars appear.

In IE it looks fine but I cannot see the menu in Firefox. When I set the parameter to for example 100 then it shows up both in IE and Firefox. But I cannot set a value in pixels. I don’t know how big the menu is because it’s dynamically built. According to your doc I can specify the value in percentage but this doesn’t work. When I set the value to “100%” it doesn’t show up in Firefox again.  

How can I solve this issue?

A: Try to set this parameter in the following way:

  var tmenuHeight = "auto";



Q: I am in the process of building this site, but as you will see the menu text is showing on the top menue, but not the javascript hide menu itself.

A: You forgot to upload engine files on you server.
That is why you see search engine friendly code for the javascript hide menu only:

Notice that you should call dmenu.js file and dmWorkPath parameter on your html page only once.

Q: We'd like to underline dhtml pop up menu items on hover but we can't do it with those spaces.

A: To set align for the one dhtml pop up menu item only you can use the following method:

Q: Is it possible to show a menu item in the simple navigation bar as selected by default to indicate what the current page is?


A: The menu has only two states normal and mouseover.

Try to do the following things:

- delete   var pressedItem=1; parameter from your data file
- set correct parameter on each page before you call data file, forexample:

You can also set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page.
That is why you should write your own code on PHP.
