Q: Is there any way to call a javascript function on mouseover from a menu item?

A: You can use your own javascript functions in the menu items.

You should paste "javascript:some_function()" into item's link field, for example:

  var menuItems = [
["text", "javascript:your_function(...)", ...]
];

  var menuItems = [
["item text", "javascript:alert('Hello World')", , , , ,]
];

Unfortunately, you can't assign onmouseover/onClick event to each item. However, you can achieve this by using standard html objects within items, for example:

  var menuitems = [
["<div onMouseover='your_code_here'>item text</div>", "index.html"]
];



Q: I am having a lot of trouble trying to get the menu to work properly. I want to make sure that I get it working before I make the licesning purchase.

The menu is to be CSS based but while I have the main menu somewhat in location, none of the settings are correct. Can you help?


A: See, the problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
To get the value you should move .css style into style="POSITION: relative;" attribute.

Please, try to add your
css file -> inline css

Try to write so:
<DIV id=if-navbar style="POSITION: relative;">


Q: I am looking to get the Floating to work for the flash drop down menu.



A: To enable floating feature you should set the following parameters:

  var absolutePos=1;

  var floatable=1;

Check also that you have dmenu_add.js file in the same folder withdmenu.js file.




Q: In Mozilla, java script drop down menu is displayed but without transitional Effects.

A: Filters and transitional effects are features of Internet Explorer5.5+ only.
