Q: Hello, I am interesting in purchasing your product, but first I need to know if it is possible to call a JavaScript function from the menu.  I have read the FAQ and noted where it lists that you can perform an alert call, and that worked on my end as well, but when I attempted to call a function I created I could not get it to respond.  Is it possible to call a function from your menu?  Could I get an example?


A: You can write your own functions within menuItems, for example:

Q: We are testing your css drop down menu and everything is fine, except for the slow load in IE7.
After the page is loaded, the first time we open each item it takes a lot of time to appear.

Do you have any solution for this problem?

A: Check that you've set the following parameter:

  var dm_writeAll=0;

You can also try to turn off transitional effects:
  var transition=-1;

And adjust the following parameters:
  var smShowPause=100;
  var smHidePause=500;

Q: I am using your javascript menu over. I have had a report today that the menu is problematic with IE8. As follows:

"A bit more of a concern is in IE8 where the menu does not function correctly in general at all. When you hover over the menu text the sub menu appears, but when you move your mouse across to select an item off the sub menu it closes. "

Are you able to confirm and rectify his problem?

A: Yes, our menu has some problems with IE8, because IE8 is a betaversion and has just a part of future functionality, for exampleit still doesn't have filters.

We're planning to add the full support for IE8as well as for all major browsers.
All issues will be fixed with final version of IE8.



Q: Can we set the link of a java menu item to a javascript method?


A: You can use your own javascript functions in the menu items.

You should paste "javascript:some_function()" into item's link field, for example:
