Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Tune menu parameters manually or using Deluxe Tuner. Then add several rows of a code within html page - your menu is ready!
  • Use special JavaScript functions for: Dynamic changing of items (text, link, icons and even individual style!). Making a menu item active/inactive. Addition/removing of items. Changing of visibility of items. Getting the information on any menu, submenu and items. Other tricks.
  • Opportunity to control the menu from the keyboard.
  • Cross-frame mode allows you to build full-featured menus on the pages that use frame-based structure. But for all that it's not necessary to insert any additional code into all the pages - just specify some additional parameters of the menu.

Q: There are two of your menus that we wish to incorporate into one. Our main left hand side vertical navigation menu would be an accordion menu. When you click on products in the accordion menu, it would drop down with an indented sub menu. When you hover over a link in the sub menu, your Javascript Scrolling Menu - Smart Scrollable Feature would allow us to have a scrolling sub menu.

I guess my question is can you have two javascript dhtml scroll menus working together in the same page?

A: I'm not sure I understand your question.
Why you should create two menus in that case?

You can create only one vertical menu (left menu) with all submenusand set smart scrollable feature:

  var smSmartScroll=1;

That is all. Please try the trial version.

Q: What I meant was that there is an API function dm_ext_changeItem that allows you to specify 8 dropdown menu parameters in an array. What if I only want to change one of them like the link for example? What do I specify in my function call to leave the other 7 parameters unchanged? Do I specify the existing values? Or, can I just put in a comma with no parameter? That would be a lot easier. Thank you.

A: You should specify only dropdown menu parameters you want to change.

You should just put a commas with no parameters, for example:

dm_ext_changeItem(0, 0, 1, ["Deluxe Menu Info", "", "", "", "Deluxe Menu Hint",,"1"]);

Q: What I mean is I still want the destination page to be static inthe   var menuitems but when the javascript side menu item is clicked, it'll run a js on the onclick or mouseup event.

Is this possible?

something like:

  var menuItems = [
["text", "home", "javascript:onclick=your_code_here"]
];

A: You can achieve this by using standard html objects within javascript side menu items, for example:

  var menuitems = [
["<div onContextMenu='your_code_here'>item text</div>", ""]
];

Actually you can use any html code within menuItems.

Q: I am spending a lot more time and have figured a few things out. One more question please: How do I specify the target link I want a dhtml submenu to go to?

I see HREF specified in the code, but no where in the program to specify it.

A: See, the following parameter sets target for all items

  var itemTarget="_self";

If you want to set different target for each item you should set it inthe "Item Parameters" window. Choose your item in the main window andset target in the target field.
