  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! A: If for some reasons a submenu can't drop down over an object the latter will be hidden for a time when the submenu is shown.

Q: Thank you for the information and especially for your good explaination of the ways DHTML and Java work with menus. I want to get a menu because I was asked to base a new web site on one that used 'showpage.asp' calls to createtheir menus. Can you throw some light on how I would go about doing that?


A: Deluxe Menu and Java Menus work on aclient side only and they don't depend on the server which you'reusing and they don't work on a server side as ASP.NET script.So, you can create the menu using standard html page and them movemenu code within .asp page.

Deluxe Menu has only two states normal and mouseover.

Try to do the following things:

- delete   var pressedItem=1; parameter from your data file
- set correct parameter on each page before you call data file, forexample:

You can also set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem. You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.

A: You are able to paste any html code within items.

So you can paste a form too.
