Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! Q: Couple last questions. I have 25 icons (images) on one page. Each image needs it's own popup menu. Obviously I now have the first one working. How and where do I define IDs number 2-24 ? Does each icon need it's own "source_" file?

Also, where is it defined that the popup menu is ID 1 ?

Each menu has ID. The ID's number starts with 0.

So, when you have several data files on your page you have such ID's:

If you want to have different Popup menus (there color, item, text,font and so on) you should create 25 different .js files with yourparameters. And call them from your page, for example:

Q: I have another question regarding the popup window. I need to use an iframe within the popup window. Is there any way I can close the dhtml popup from the page loaded within the iframe?

A: You can close the popup using the following function:
document.getElementById('win').hide();

Unfortunately it won't work if you use iframe as window content.
You open another page in the popup (in Iframe) so you cannot accessdocument.getElementById('win').hide();
element which is situated on the first page.

When you use text or object_id as window content the content of the popup will be situatedon the same page so you can access document.getElementById('win') element and hide it.

There is a workaround.
Use text as content type and add the following code inside popup:

<a onclick="document.getElementById('win').hide();">...</a> <iframe></iframe>

Your link will work in that case.

Q: Can you please guide me how can i use the ajax functionality for tree view navigation..


A: To enable AJAX Tree Menu use the following menu parameters:

  var tajax=1; // enables AJAX technology support

Each .js file must contain menuItems variable for the submenu in the following format:

  var tmenuItems = [
[text, link, icon1, icon2, icon2, tip, target, itemStyle, submenuStyle, jsFileName],
];

Where jsFileName - .js filename on the server that contains tmenuItems variable for the submenu.

A: For each tab you can set content <div> (contentName,contentDescription, contentVariations).
