Q: Our company has been using the trial version of Deluxe Menu and was satisfied enough with initial integration efforts to acquire the license version.

We are interested in making our main dhtml rollover menu items a constant width, but the data.js parameters (  var menuWidth="800px";   var menuHeight="30px";   var smWidth="";   var smHeight="";) don't seem to give us that capability. We dynamically remove main menu items based on user roles and when we do the main menu always re-sizes and the remaining main menu item widths no longer match our sub-menu widths. We're able to adjust for this by using the API but that seems to be a lot of unnecessary coding. If we could keep each main menu item a fixed width, our sub-menu widths would not have to change.

Do you have information on how to accomplish fixed main menu item widths, even better would be an example?

A: Actually you can specify the width and of all or individual dhtml rollover menu items or submenus usingIndividual Item/Submenu styles.

Q: How do I set the width of sub menu items to be the same width as the parent horizontal dhtml menu item? I can see how to set a px or % width, and when the at least one sub menu item exceeds the parent item the the entire menu stretches to that width (which is fine), but what about the instance where the sub menu items are not as wide as the parent item - in this case, the sub menu is not as wide as the parent item, which looks odd. Is there any way to force it to be (at least) the same width as the parent item?

I hope this is all clear to you, if not, please give me a shout for clarification.

A: You can set exact width for your top items using Individual Item Styles and set submenu width usingIndividual Submenu Style.

You should also set the following parameter:
  var noWrap=0;

Q: The spacing between each item of the top horizontal dropdown menu is uneven but I don't know why.

If you highlight them all it becomes more obvious.

It is almost as if the space after a 2 word link is twice the space after a one word link or else the total space after each link is related to the number of letters in the link.

For example the space after 'Discounts' is greater than the space after 'Home' but the space after 'Envelope Printing' is even greater.

A: You can try to set the following horizontal dropdown menu parameters:

Q: I'd like to create  a tabbed menu which has about 9 or 10 main tabs.
I'd like to conserve the horizontal space, and wrap the menu after 4 or 5 tabs to have two rows of main tabs. Some tabs have sub menus, some don't.
The first main tab has about 10 items, and I'd like the user to be able to click on that main tab to see the 10 items.

I was going along splendidly with tab mode on. Then I get too far to the right and want to wrap.
hence that is why I want two rows, and apparently need to add the $ to wrap the menu around to a second row.

Do I need to use two tab menus to accomplish this?


A: This doesn't work in TabMode=1.

I suppose that it will be better to use two menus on the page.
