Javascript Menu. DHTML Menu.

Q: How do you change the back ground color of the menu?
menuBackColor just changes the pull down background.
I'm stuck with a blue background which i guess is the default.

I've looked at the parameters page for info, tried a few different items but none worked for changing the background.

I'm sure its something very obvious, but any help would be appreciated.

A: Please, don't forget to change also item background colors:

Q: It all works great under IE, but when you view it in Firefox the fly-out menus (off of Products, Services & About Us) do not appear over the Flash animation to the right in IE.

It works fine under Firefox on all other pages apart form Home, because Home is the only page with containing the Flash animation.

Could you please have a look and let us know if this is a known issue (we're using the latest 8 dmenu .js file, time-stamped 11 April 2006).

Q: I have set up a menu that uses one 'data.js' file.
However, on ONE page, the menu needs to have three additional items, with a different style.
Is there a way to add the three items with a different style via javascript on that one page?
I think I know how to handle the styles, but I'm unsure how to add the three new items without using two differerent 'data.js' files- which is how I have it set up for the time being. You may want to visit the site to see what I mean.


A: You can use dm_ext_addItem() function to add items.

You should upload dmenu_dyn.js file on your server.

In your data.js file you should add need Individual Item Styles.


Q: I got the menu to display across frames, but it displays differently in Firefox & Mozillavs. Internet Explorer. Is that to be expected?

In The Mozilla-based browsers, the submenu butts right upunder the main menu – which is how I want it. In IE, it is about 10 pixels below.

Also, I can’t get the submenus to drop down directly under the main menus – they are offset by about 100 pixels to the right.

A: The problem is in a structure of your frameset.
Mozilla browsers can't determine absolute coordinates for a frame, sosubmenus drop down with an offset.

You should create the following frameset structure:

--|------------
   | menu
--|------------
   |
   | submenus
   |

Now a top row has 2 columns and all browsers can determine awidth of the 1st column in the second row.
