  • Create contextual menus for your pages. For this purpose you should assign a special function for the object you want. The current coordinates of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the contextual menu.
  • When the submenu is larger than the visible area of the page the submenu will be automatically decreased. To see all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automatically scrolled! Q: The mentioned effect occurs even when the entire page is completely loaded!

As we explained before, it occurs only when we view the page with explorer 6.

(It is working fine under explorer 7 and under Firefox, so you should check it under explorer 6)

Please see the following link with our test page which demonstrates the problem.

As you will see, the buttons of the javascript menu scroll and the text will disappear (become white) while you move the mouse cursor over the menu buttons. It has nothing to do with page loading.

We are using a "Vista style" javascript menu scroll with custom design pictures.

A: This is IE6 bug.

Q: How do I control the individual tab width for afloat tabs?


A:   var bmenuWidth="100%";

I have 5 items in my example, so I've created Individual Style

And assign it for all items:

But notice that items width cannot be smaller than the width of its'text.
So it is possible that you'll have different size of some itemsif your window have a small size.

Q: Is it possible that a menuitem of the js dropdown menu stays highlighted after clicking and loading the new html site?


A: The menu has only two states normal and mouseover. We'll try to add the pressed state in the future.

You can set a pressed item using Javascript API:

function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion)

Sets a current pressed item.
menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.
itemInd - index of an item, >=0.
recursion = true/false - highlight parent items.

But notice, to use dm_ext_setPressedItem() you should know ID of selected item and subitem.
You can't get this ID after you reload your page. That is why you should write your own code on PHP.

You can also set the correct
  var pressedItem=1;
parameter on each html page.



Q: Is there a instruction manual on how to use all the features of javascript for dropdown menu? The "help" screen does not give detailed instructions of all the Parameters, Appearance, Individual Style features, Item Parameters, etc. etc.
