Q: I have not been able to get the dhtml context menu - or any other Javascript - to appear. I use FrontPage2000. Any ideas?

A: See how you should install Deluxe Menu on your pages.

Deluxe Menus weren't developed as Dreamweaver/Frontpage extension,BUT you can use it as standard Javascript files. To install the dhtml context menuinto your html page:

1. open the page in your program
2. open html source code of the page
3. add several rows of code (<script> tags), For info see:
http://deluxe-tree.com/installation-info.html

That's all.

It is possible that Dreamweaver changes some paths, so you havean error in the preview.
On your site or in your browser there'll be no errors.

Create your menu in Deluxe Tuner application.
You can create any dhtml context menu as you like in Deluxe Tuner.

...
</head>

<body>

Q: I want to use your menu to create a javascript menu bars like effect in my application. For that I need only the images in the menu items and sub menu items(no text).

And I also want to enable disable toolbar items dynamically depending on the flow in my web application.

I could not find any help for the javascript API on your site that changes the menu dynamically.

A: Our menu is very flexible, so you'll be able to implement any menusystem you want, see for example:

Q: Earlier today I bought your Deluxe Tabbed Menu software. I "nearly" have the menu I want working, but my problem is that the sub menus I have created in my java script tabs disappear very quickly after being clicked. I want these sub-menus to stay when.

The website that I have developed the menu for can be seen at www.domain.ie/index.php I have sub menus created for the About, Courses & Contact Us items, but as mentioned these disappear very quickly.

FYI, I call the data.js menu file from an include file in the webpages. I don't know if this has anything to do with my problem.

A: That is happen because you have links for the top items with subitems:
About Us
Courses
Contact Us

Actually it is not correctly to use links for items with subitems. Youshould use these items to open subitems only.

But if you want to use links for them you should set the correctpressed item for this page, for example for
http://www.domain.ie/about.php
you should set
  var bselectedItem=2;

http://www.domain.ie/courses.php
you should set
  var bselectedItem=6;

Deluxe Tabs doesn't support API functions which can return theselected tab aslo.

You can set "bselectedItem" and "  var bselectedSmItem" parametersbased on your link before you call your data file.

For example, move "  var bselectedItem" and "  var bselectedSmItem" parametersfrom your data file to your code.

<TD vAlign=top align=left>
/* Select Tab */
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2">
  var bselectedItem=<?php echo $seltabs; ?>;
  var bselectedSmItem=<?php echo $selsmtabs; ?>;
</script>
<SCRIPT src="data.js" type=text/javascript></SCRIPT>
</TD>

You should define seltabs and selsmtabs using server side script.

You can also set it on every page before you call data.js file, forexample:

<TD vAlign=top align=left>
/* Select Tab */
<script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript1.2">
  var bselectedItem=4;
  var bselectedSmItem=3;
</script>
<SCRIPT src="data.js" type=text/javascript></SCRIPT>
</TD>

Q: I'm trying to shrink the vertical size of the sub-menu entries in my menu:

I think I've specified all the parameters correctly in data.js, but itТs hard to tell what affects the height of the submenu entries. Even reducing the type from 10pt to 8pt didnТt shrink them at all.

A: See, you set the following parameter:

  var itemPadding = 7;

That is why you have such a big padding around the items.

If you don't want to change the appearance of the main items youshould create Individual Style for the subitems. For example:

  var menuStyles = [
["itemPadding=2px"],
];

And assign this style for the first item in submenu.
