Q: When I load a page with dhtml menu sample, lets say contact, the first tab is always highlighted, not the contact tab

A: I suppose that you've set the following parameter:

  var bselectedItem=1;

So, the first tab is always highlighted.

This Tab menu can save pressed item automatically within1 page only. If you open another page, the menu can't remember presseditem. You should do that manually using Javascript and menu parameters(  var bselectedItem,   var bselectedSmItem) or using any server-sidescript (php, asp, etc.)

You should delete this parameter from your data file and write thefollowing code on each page before you call your data file, for example:

Q: How can I open the links that I created for the items /sub-items on the same window
for the mouseover menu (not on a new window)?

A: You can set target parameter for all items:

  var itemTarget="_self";

or for each item individually:

Q: My site requires me to regularly update the drop down menu by inserting a new item at the top of the list.


A: Add items using the following function:

function dm_ext_addItemPos (menuInd, submenuInd, iParams, Pos)

Adds the new item to a submenu.

menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.

iParams = [array] - the array of item parameters.
This parameter has the same structure as an item in menuItems array.
You can assign parameters of another existent item of the menu
(for example, when you want to create a duplicate of the existent item) or create new ones.

Structure of iParams:
[item_text, link, icon_normal, icon_over, tip, target, individual_style_index, jsFilename]
Pos - the position in the menu where you want to add new item.

Q: I'm using the trial version of your product and have a question for you before purchasing:

How do I show different content when selecting the different dhtml layer menu tabs?

For example, when I use the Windows Forms tab control in VB .NET, there's more to the tab control than just the dhtml layer menu tabs themselves...there's also the "body" of each individual tab that changes when I select different tabs.
Does your product do the same?

A: You should specify any Object ID name of the DIV.

See, for each item you should assign the ID property of the contentDIV (see data file with your menu parameters).
