Q: Is there any way can we display sub level menu items on mouse over of first level menu items using tabs (Text Style Javascript Dhtml Tab / Java Script Tab Script Text Style / Javascript Tab Navigation Text Style / Javascript Tabbed Menus XP Style)


A: Unfortunately, you can do it on mouseover with Deluxe Tabs.
But you can create such menu using Deluxe Menu.


Q: How can I place the dhtml pull down menu onto multiple pages using FrontPage 2000? I am not using CSS. Do I need to copy the html into all of the pages, or just place the script into each page?

A: Yes, you should paste the following html code on your pages:

If you don't want to add such code on each page, you can try to useframes, the dhtml pull down menu has a cross-frame mode. Also you can use aserver-side script (php, asp, vb, etc.) to generate html pages fromtemplates on your server.



Q: Our company has been using the trial version of Deluxe Menu and was satisfied enough with initial integration efforts to acquire the license version.

We are interested in making our main dhtml rollover menu items a constant width, but the data.js parameters (  var menuWidth="800px";   var menuHeight="30px";   var smWidth="";   var smHeight="";) don't seem to give us that capability. We dynamically remove main menu items based on user roles and when we do the main menu always re-sizes and the remaining main menu item widths no longer match our sub-menu widths. We're able to adjust for this by using the API but that seems to be a lot of unnecessary coding. If we could keep each main menu item a fixed width, our sub-menu widths would not have to change.

Do you have information on how to accomplish fixed main menu item widths, even better would be an example?

A: Actually you can specify the width and of all or individual dhtml rollover menu items or submenus usingIndividual Item/Submenu styles.

Q: I just need to know if there is a way of establishing the width at "runtime" in the javascript dynamic menu so that my frame in my frameset can be widened accordingly.

A: There are no special parameters for menu dimensions.
But you can use submenu IDs. For example, top-menu has ID"dmXXXm0"

Where XXX - menu index. So, first menu on the page has ID "dm0m0".
So, you can determine menu dimensions so:

document.getElementById('dm0m0').offsetWidth
document.getElementById('dm0m0').offsetHeight

You can also use Javascript API functions to take submenu IDs.
