Q: I created tabs. And i placed the some control in each tab. I taken the submit button outside the tab . I written java script validation for taking input.Now in this case my focus should go the particular tab and the control.
How to control and refer particular tab in flash tab menu when submit button is exist outside the tab

A: You can use the following function to open appropriate tab:

dtabs_itemClick(menuN, itemN);

where
menuN - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
itemN - index of a tab you want to show, <=0.
For example:

Q: In our application we want to have the drop down menu configured inside IFrame but still visible on the page. Currently the menu slides down inside the iframe,
Is this scenario configurable.


A: Deluxe Menu don't work with <IFrame> objects. They work with<frameset> objects only.
All they can to do with <IFrame> is to loadpages into it.


Q: But given the sample on

we want to delete menuentry 'Sample1' and do
dm_ext_deleteItem(2, 4, 0)

This raises an error but according to your javascript menu master manual the first argument should be the menuindex ....which is 2 in our opinion.

A: See, if you have several menus on your page they will have differentID's, for example:

<script type="text/javascript" src="menu/data1.js"></script> //ID=0

<script type="text/javascript" src="menu/data2.js"></script> //ID=1

<script type="text/javascript" src="menu/data3.js"></script> //ID=2

<script type="text/javascript" src="menu/data4.js"></script> //ID=3

So, if you have only one menu on your test page you should use ID=0

Q: Pls help me with another question.

I have an horizontal menu in which the submenus drop down (as in example # 1 you have in your web).

For the first level items (which are horizontal), I do not want item spacing or itemPadding, that is:
  var itemSpacing=0;
  var itemPadding=0;

However, for the second and third level menu items, that drop down, I do need spacing and padding, like this:
  var itemSpacing=1;
  var itemPadding=1;

How can achieve this if, we have only one set of parameters??

A: You should use Individual Styles.

You should set the following parameters:

  var itemSpacing = 0;
  var itemPadding = 0;

and create individual style for submenus
  var menuStyles = [
["menuBackImage=images/subm_back.gif","itemSpacing=1","itemPadding=1"], // add Spacing and Padding to the style which is used for the third level menu items.
["columnPerSubmenu=2"],
["itemSpacing=1","itemPadding=1"], //style 2
];

You should assign this style for the second and third level menu items
