Q: My site requires me to regularly update the drop down menu by inserting a new item at the top of the list.


A: Add items using the following function:

function dm_ext_addItemPos (menuInd, submenuInd, iParams, Pos)

Adds the new item to a submenu.

menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.

iParams = [array] - the array of item parameters.
This parameter has the same structure as an item in menuItems array.
You can assign parameters of another existent item of the menu
(for example, when you want to create a duplicate of the existent item) or create new ones.

Structure of iParams:
[item_text, link, icon_normal, icon_over, tip, target, individual_style_index, jsFilename]
Pos - the position in the menu where you want to add new item.

Q: Can I use my own images as the tabs in a dreamweaver navigation bar?

A: The Drop down menu items have the following structure:
  var menuItems = [
[text, link, iconNormal, iconOver, tip, target, itemStyleInd, submenuStyleInd, jsFilename],
[text, link, iconNormal, iconOver, tip, target, itemStyleInd, submenuStyleInd, jsFilename],
...
];

Where iconNormal, iconOver - Icons of an item: icon in normal state, icon in mouseover state.

So you can set your menu items in a such way:

Q: I am Registered user.
My question is:
Can you have borders around the sub-menus only. If you can how is this done, if it is done in the individual styles can you walk me through that. I tried it there but for some reason it wasn’t working. I'm thinking I wasn’t selecting the correct item to edit.


A: You should create Individual style and assign it to the first item in each submenu.

Q: I do have issues. There are not the problems when you are on the home page (you can click on one of the dropdown submenus and go there.
However, when you try to go to another page from there to another page on a nother drop down, nothing happens except javascript erros. The dropdowns physical work, in that they drop down, but the links don't go anywhere. Does that make sense.


A: See, the problem was in your dmWorkPath parameter

On all pages placed in the subfolder you should write it in thefollowing way:

Please, correct it.

You should also use additional parameters to make menu paths absolute:

  var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
  var pathPrefix_link = "http://www.infocusnet.org/design/";

These parameters allow to make images and links paths absolute.
For example:

  var pathPrefix_img = "http://domain.com/images/";
  var pathPrefix_link = "http://www.infocusnet.org/design/";

  var menuItems = [
["text", "index.html", "icon1.gif", "icon2.gif"],
];

So, link path will be look so:
http://domain.com/pages/index.html

Images paths will be look so:
http://domain.com/images/icon1.gif

Please, use pathPrefix_link parameter.
