A: You can use your own javascript functions in the menu items.

You should paste "javascript:some_function()" into item's link field, for example:

["tab text","javascript: window.open('test.html', 'frameName')", ...],
or
["tab text","javascript: getURLForFrame()", ...],

Q: I just noticed another problem: when I set dmObjectsCheck=1 and I click on a menu-item of the dropdown menu nothing happens! No matter whether the banner is flash or not. And no matter if the browser is IE or Firefox. As soon as I set dmObjectsCheck=0 the submenu works again.


A: You should set the following parameter

  var dmObjectsCheck=1;

You should also add dmenu_add.js file into the folder with yourdmenu.js file.

Q: Hello, I am trying to figure out how to use the Dynamic functionality in the java menu codes. I believe I want to use something like the dm_ext_changeItemVisibility function, and I want it to be dependent on HTML wrapped around the menu item.

Below is functionally how I want it to work:

Show menu item 2

Is there an example you can share that does something like this? I searched the site and could not find an answer.

Disable "Product Info/Installation" item.
and
Hide / show "Samples" item.

You can call these function via javascript depending on your conditions.



Q: The browser I am using is Internet Explorer 7.0 at Windows Vista (with "Security" set at "Medium"). I get the message "To help protect your security, Internet Explorer has restricted this webpage from running scripts or ActiveX controls that could access your computer" and then I have to click this message/bar in order to "Allow blocked content". After I do that the javascript menu script appears as it should, but of course I don't want visitors to go through that. FYI, I do not have the same problem with the dynamic menus on your website or in other websites, which appear normally right from the start.

A: You should adjust your browser settings.

"Allow active content from files to run on My Computer".

There is no way to enable these preferences automatically, in othercase there are no reasons to create security preferences.
