Q: I am trying to implement something with your wonderful product and have annoying problem that I am sure You are going to solve.
I am using 2 deluxe-menus on the same page.
The first one for showing some hierarchy of sites, and the second for showing pop-up right-click context menu (that clicked on some menu-item from the first deluxe-menu) .
The problem is that in case the user clicked on some sub-menu from the first css horizontal menu drop down, then all the sub menus disappear. I want them to stay.
I tried to give to the first deluxe-menu *smHideOnClick*=0 , but it doesn't help.
A: Try to set the following parameter:
var smHidePause=-1;Q: Thanks, we tried giving var pressedItem=0; and the script as below:
<script type="text/javascript">
onload=setPressed;
function setPressed()
{
dm_ext_setPressedItem (0,8,0,0);
}
</script>
We are facing 2 problems
1) Two menus are getting highlighted, the "Home" and the dynamic html menu which is called onLoad using dm_ext_setPressedItem (0,8,0,0); function)
2) The submenu of the dm_ext_setPressedItem (0,8,0,0) is not getting highlighted.
A: Try to set
var pressedItem=-2;
dm_ext_setPressedItem function has a following parameters:
function dm_ext_setPressedItem (menuInd, submenuInd, itemInd, recursion, parentOpen)
So, if you want to highlight item in the submenu you should use itemInd of this item (notitemInd of the parent item).
For example you want to highlight submenu item of the 'Manage Users' parent item with
itemInd=15.
You can find more info about dynamic html menu indexes here:
http://deluxe-menu.com/highlighted-items-sample.html#ind
So you should write the function in the following way:
dm_ext_setPressedItem (0, 3, 15, 1, 1)
menuInd = 0 if you have only one menu on the page
submenuInd = 3, see how to determine submenuInd in the table
http://deluxe-menu.com/highlighted-items-sample.html#ind
itemInd = 15, see how to determine itemInd in the table
http://deluxe-menu.com/highlighted-items-sample.html#ind
recursion = 1, to highlight parent items
parentOpen = 1, to open the submenu with the selected item.Q: How do I make the main nav links align left in my horizontal menu (they are center aligned).
A: Try to use the following parameter:
var itemAlignTop="left";Q: I am contacting you on behalf of my client World of Envelopes as they currently use your menus. We are currently running their SEO campaign and would like to know what is search engine friendly about your new javascript hover menu?
Would it be possible for you to provide me with an example of a client that is currently using this new menu so I can assess the SEO ability of this menu.
A: You should generate search engine friendly code and install it on yourpage.
Deluxe Menu is a search engine friendly menu since v1.12.
To create a search engine friendly javascript hover menu you should add additional html code within your html page:
<div id="dmlinks">
<a href="http://deluxe-menu.com">menu_item_text1</a>
<a href="http://deluxe-tree.com">menu_item_text2</a>
...etc.
</div>
To generate such a code use Deluxe Tuner application.
Run Tuner, load your menu and click Tools/Generate SE-friendly Code (F3).
We use search engine friendly code on our website,
