  • Build right-click menus for your site. For this purpose you should appoint a peculiar method for the object you want. The current X,Y of the mouse pointer or your own ones can be used for the context menu.
  • Design menus absolutely based on CSS (Cascading Style Sheets). It is possible to apply the personal CSS styles for every elements of the menu.
  • When the submenu is bigger than the visible page area, the size of submenu will be automatically decreased. To view all the submenu items you do not need to use scrollbars or something like that - just put your mouse to the bottom of a submenu and it will be automagically scrolled! You can also define width and height for each submenu.

Q: Do you support keyboard shortcuts (up/down through javascript for drop down menu)? I couldn't find an example of that.

Also, this one from OpenCube (exploding submenus) runs on Firefox too. No way to get that in yours?

A: No, Deluxe Menu doesn't support transitional effect in Firefox. Thereis no way to do it in the current version of the menu. It is possiblethat we'll add this feature in the next versions.

Use the following parameter to enable keystrokes support:
  var keystrokes = 1;
0 - disabled (default), 1 - enabled.

Use also the following parameters:
  var dm_focus = 1; Show focus selection for selected item.
  var dm_actKey = 113; Key code for keystrokes activation.
Works with Ctrl key only.
Default value is 113 = F2 key, 114 = F3 key, 115 = F4 key, etc.



Q: Doesn't this mean that I have to add this search engine code to all of my sites pages?  If so this could be tedious when adding additional pages to a large site.Is this something I can adjust ...or make submenus were you can't see through them?


A: Unfortunately it is really so. You should paste search engine code onthe each page with the menu.

If you don't want to create your menu (and add search engine friendlycode) on each page, you can try to use frames, the menu has a cross-frame mode. Also you can use aserver-side script (php, asp, vb, etc.) to generate html pages fromtemplates on your server.


Q: This tiny javascript menu codes (30kb) take about 25 seconds to load in our browsers (internet explorer)

This intranet site serves approx 15 workstations and I named it 'QuickFind'. It is now the slowest to load of any websites, applications, you name it...

So it is bit embarassing ...

Q: We are using the deluxe menu in one of our projects. The menu works well on our integration system but not on our production system.

The only difference is that the integration is running on Tomcat Version 5.5.9 and the production (with the "broken" menu) on Tomcat 5.5.17.

But for me it looks more like a browser problem than a JSP problem.
Unfortunatley the Tomcat 5.5.17 is our production system so fast help is appreciated.

Make sure that you have dmenu_add.js file in the same folder withdmenu.js file.
