Q: Is there a way to make the vertical drop down menu dhtml not reset after a link is clicked. Now every time I click a link in the tree menu it takes me to the linked page but all the menus re-expand.

A: When user clicks the link, the browser loads a new page and the script re-create the vertical drop down menu dhtml.
If you want to open the needed section automatically on load you can use the following:

1. Save the state to cookies

2. Use frames

3. Put the special script on each page of site that will open appropriate section.

Q: I am interested in your dhtml menu product, I did not see any examples using a target attribute for the url, i.e.

Also if this is supported if you could send me an example of how to configure this...


A: You should use the following parameter
  var itemTarget = "_self";

Please, see also individual items targets, for example:
 ["|Features","testlink.html", "default.files/icon2.gif", "default.files/icon2o.gif", , "_blank", , , , ],
Change "_blank" to "" or to "_self".


Q: It looks as though I should be able to have an icon before each item in the sub-menu in javascript tabs, but I don't seem to be able to get thisto work.

Could you please tell me how to fix this?


A: You can use icons before each item in the sub-menu.
You should use the following parameters:

- set icon in the "Item Parameters" window.
- set the width and height of this icon

- set, for example

Q: Hello, I am trying to figure out how to use the Dynamic functionality in the java menu codes. I believe I want to use something like the dm_ext_changeItemVisibility function, and I want it to be dependent on HTML wrapped around the menu item.

Below is functionally how I want it to work:

Show menu item 1
Show menu item 2

Show menu item 3

Show menu item 4

Is there an example you can share that does something like this? I searched the site and could not find an answer.
