A: Now you have several errors in you data files appl2menu.js andapplmenu.js.

Now you have

This is not right.
Try to write them:
  var menuBackColor="#CCCCCC";
  var menuBorderWidth="0"; //this parameter cannot be empty

Q: When I select something from one of the mouseover menus it takes me to a link on a website,
is it possible to run a javascript instead?

A: Actually you can use your own Javascript code instead standard links and html code inside item text.
For example:

Q: Also, I was wondering about adding some css (style="cursor:pointer") so when someone is over the javascript pop menu it will turn into a hand and the user will know it is clickable.

A: Set the following javascript pop menu parameter:

Q: Now it works fine in Firefox and mostly in IE.... Only problem... In IE...

When the page with dhtml tab menu first loads ... It does not load the content of the first DIV....
It's fine in Firefox...now IE just does not load the first div... I've tried added a JS function to set to visible the first DIV onLoad...but that does not work either...

Is there anyway to hard-code in ...to set the first DIV to visible?

You should check that you use correct value of
  var bselectedItem=1;
parameter.

That is mean that second item in menuItems array will be highlighted.
