Q: I'm trying out the cross-browser (top to bottom) drop down menu and I was wondering if it was possible to have the top bar (the main items) use a background image while the sub-items beneath used a plain background color and no image?

So far I've gotten them to either both use a background image, or both use a background color. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. :)

A: Actually you can create any menu you like with Deluxe Menu.

You can use Individual Styles to set background image for the items

Q: I downloaded the new version of dhtml menu source code copied the files over to my folder this menu was made with3.0 the files I copied over is 3.2 and now I get an error.

A: Now you have:

It is not correct. You should write:

  var fontStyle=["normal 12px Trebuchet MS, Tahoma","normal 12px Trebuchet MS, Tahoma"];



Q: I am having a lot of trouble trying to get the menu to work properly. I want to make sure that I get it working before I make the licesning purchase.

The menu is to be CSS based but while I have the main menu somewhat in location, none of the settings are correct. Can you help?


A: See, the problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
To get the value you should move .css style into style="POSITION: relative;" attribute.

Please, try to add your
css file -> inline css

Try to write so:
<DIV id=if-navbar style="POSITION: relative;">
