Q: My site requires me to regularly update the drop down menu by inserting a new item at the top of the list.


A: Add items using the following function:

function dm_ext_addItemPos (menuInd, submenuInd, iParams, Pos)

Adds the new item to a submenu.

menuInd - index of a menu on a page, >= 0.
submenuInd - index of a submenu, >= 0.

iParams = [array] - the array of item parameters.
This parameter has the same structure as an item in menuItems array.
You can assign parameters of another existent item of the menu
(for example, when you want to create a duplicate of the existent item) or create new ones.

Structure of iParams:
[item_text, link, icon_normal, icon_over, tip, target, individual_style_index, jsFilename]
Pos - the position in the menu where you want to add new item.

Q: Under Opera everything works fine but under IE the submenu’s are way down the page and go off the bottom of the screen.


A: See, the problem is that the script can't get css properties of the object if they are described in separate .css block (or file).
In other words, you can't get the value of "position" attribute of the object if the object doesn't have this property within inline style(style="PADDING-BOTTOM: 10px;"). To get the value you should move .css style into style="" attribute.

Please, try to add your

css file -> inline css, for example:

You should add style="PADDING-BOTTOM: 10px;"

to the

<DIV class=department-menu>

So, you'll have:

<DIV class=department-menu style="POSITION: absolute;PADDING-BOTTOM: 10px;">

A: The Drop down menu items have the following structure:

Where iconNormal, iconOver - Icons of an item: icon in normal state, icon in mouseover state.

So you can set your menu items in a such way:
